Recover Deleted or Overwritten Files in Nextcloud

Did you overwrite a file you didn’t want to? Or delete a file that disappeared from your trash? There’s a way to get that back!

1. Go to https://nextcloud.southridge.cc
2. Login with your username and password (your password is the same as your mac login password)
3. Proceed to the necessary next steps for your use case.

For Deleted Files

1. Click Deleted Files in the bottom left hand corner of page
2. Look through the list for the deleted file you want to restore
3. Press the restore button to the right of the file you want to restore.
4. Boom, it’s back where it came from!

For Overwritten Files

1. Click through your folders till you find where the overwritten file was.
2. Once you find the file, click the 3 dots to the right of the file, choose Details
3. Then choose Versions from the window that opens. You can then restore the version you want back. It will replace the file with that version of it you selected. (You may have to wait for the file to finish syncing, watch the Nextcloud icon in your menubar!)
