Remote Access

If you’re offsite and need to access shares or other services, you simply need to connect to the VPN via an Application called Tunnelblick.

We need to make sure that Tunnelblick is running first. In your menu bar, (the bar along the top of your mac) look for this icon. If you can see this icon, perfect. If not expand the Launch Tunnelblick steps below.

Launch Tunnelblick
Let’s start by launching Spotlight. If you click on the Spotlight icon 🔍 in the top right-hand corner of your mac, you’ll be presented with a search bar. Then type in Tunnelblick and press enter.

Connect to SouthridgeVPN

Now that we know you have Tunnelblick running, click the Tunnelblick icon in your menu bar. From the dropdown menu, choose SouthridgeVPN. Tunnelblick will begin the connection process, as it does so it will ask for your computer username and password. Eg. rvangeest / password

Once it has completed connecting the Tunnelblick icon will turn black.

Shares

Follow the additional guide here to connect to Shares.

Disconnect From Tunnelblick

When you no longer need remote access, click the Tunnelblick icon from your menu bar again and choose Disconnect SouthridgeVPN.

It doesn’t work great to be connected to Tunnelblick while you are at any of our sites, so be sure to disconnect when you come on site. You may need to turn your WiFi on and off again if you were connected onsite.
