Connect to a RemoteDesktop

If you’ve been assigned access to a Windows Remote Desktop, we are going to walk through how to access it.

  1. Locate the RDP file necessary for your connection.
    • Spire: /Shares/Operations/IT/Spire.rdp
    • NET2: /Shares/Operations/IT/NET2 – Doors.rdp
  2. Open the remote desktop app from Finder > Applications > Microsoft Remote Desktop.
  3. In the top menu bar, click the gear icon, choose Import from RDP file. Navigate to your RDP file listed above, select it and choose Import.
  4. The RemoteDesktop will now appear in the window. Right click on it and choose Edit.
  5. Beside User account choose Add a User Account, and enter your Mac username/password, then click Add. Click Save on the still open window.
  6. Now you will be able to double click the RemoteDesktop and launch into the machine.
